About

self portrait (pastel).png

Ken studied drawing, painting and graphic design in the mid 1970’s and again mid 1990’s at Montserrat College of Art under the tutelage of George Gabin, Roger Martin, Paul Scott, Ethan Berry, and Gabrielle Keller. For many years he also worked as a carpenter and contractor on residential and commercial building projects. Since 2012 and with a little more free time, Ken is working again as a visual artist.

Now, with his camera, he is exploring the woods and shorelines of Manchester-by-the-Sea and Cape Ann. Fresh inspiration to create new imagery also comes from frequent trips to Maine. The images are then digitally massaged and shaped in the studio; in time they can evolve further with traditional artist mediums such as pastel, charcoal, watercolor and acrylic.

It is Ken's intention to present new pieces over time to the website and continue to explore various means of image making. Each image can be printed on a wide variety of surfaces from archival paper, canvas, and metal. Sizes range from small (6"x6”) to large (24"x30" and 36”x48") and larger still in the form of wall murals. Finishes can be glossy, satin, and matte.

Pricing will vary, depending on size and printing choice. Please contact the artist at meadowmountain@comcast.net to inquire about printing and purchasing a piece of artwork.
